Day 1

Hello everyone
This week is half-term so we are off school. So yesterday we were talking about what we could do because we were bored and we wanted to do something active, like go for a walk or out on our bikes. Then we decided that we could do something to raise money for our favourite charity, The Uganda Child Education Trust (UCETk). The Highway Community Centre is run by the Kitende community with UCETk and they really really need books and educational things like writing books and pencils.

Then Mum came up with a really good idea: "Why don't you get fit so that you can do a sponsored walk up a mountain, there are loads in Wales." she said.  Brilliant! We thought! How about Snowdon?

Mount Snowdon is the tallest mountain in the UK

So we rushed upstairs and put some training clothes on and our trainers and  started running up the stairs. It wasn't long before Mum started shouting at us for making so much noise and she suggested that we went outside instead. We pumped up the tyres on our bikes because we hadn't used them all winter and the tyres had gone flat and then we rode around our estate 5 times. We love riding our bikes so this was really fun! After our bike ride we decided to do some exercises because if we are going to climb a HUGE mountain we need to be really fit. We did some 'burpies' (Mum says they are like squats) and push ups. They were really tiring :(  We were outside running around and doing exercises for ages. Mami made scrummy pasta for tea with loads of vegetables and spinach to make us strong!

Tomorrow we're going to do something else to get fit, but we are not sure what yet Mum says we might go swimming YAY!!

Thank you for reading our blog lots of love from Carys and Sioned xxxxxxx
